Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Industry Recon (we, us, our) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information openly and honestly. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you use our websites and the registration and enquiry forms on them. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Industry Recon is a provider intelligence and marketing platform for commercial services, based in Melbourne, Australia. These pages are our pre-launch registration and information pages. [ABN to be added before launch.]

What personal information we collect

When you complete a form on our site, we collect the information you choose to give us. Depending on the form, this can include your name, email address, phone number, business or company name, the capacity you are enquiring in, the states you operate in, and any message you send us.

When you visit our site, our hosting and security provider automatically collects limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site secure and running, not to identify you personally.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete and submit a form. We collect technical information automatically through our website hosting and security provider. We do not buy personal information, and we do not collect it about you from other people.

Why we collect and use it

We use your personal information to respond to your registration or enquiry, to contact you about early access and our launch, to keep you informed about Industry Recon where it relates to your interest, and to operate, protect and improve our site. We only use your information for the purposes you would reasonably expect, or as permitted by law.

Direct marketing

If you register or enquire, we may send you updates about Industry Recon that relate to your interest. Every message will include a simple way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing us. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site and respond to you, and only so they can perform those services. These currently include our form-handling provider (Web3Forms), which processes form submissions and delivers them to us, and our website hosting and security provider (Cloudflare). We may also disclose information where we are required or authorised to by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including Web3Forms and Cloudflare, store and process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. By submitting a form, you consent to your personal information being disclosed to and handled by these providers overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled appropriately.

Cookies

Our site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting and security provider may set essential cookies that are needed to keep the site secure and working. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including using reputable providers and secure connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly if a problem arises.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Email us at [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no charge to make a request, though in some cases a reasonable cost may apply to providing access.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
